98 Max w/ Tokico HP Blue Setup ***pics***

Hey everybody, here are some before and after pics of my 98 5 speed max with the Tokico HP Blue setup. I have not driven the car yet because I was getting my 5 speed transmission fully rebuilt. I just got the tranny back this evening and will be putting it in tomorrow! Oh also, the final after pic, is with the transmission out of the car. So hopefully when I drop the tranny in the car, the car will sit lower. I will take more pics later and post them up when I get the max cleaned up, I will let you all know how the suspension feels!

OEM suspension had 249,000 miles on them! I don't need these anymore!

Loogs good. Can I ask what made you choose the blues over illuminas or AGX's?

Thx. I got everything from a member in the for sale section. All 4 struts were plug n play. I chose these because of the price and I read some pretty good reviews about the blues.

Appreciate it man, I got the tranny in late at night. I'm running into some problems with the drivers side axle. I will be driving it tomorrow once that is completed. I had 2 10's but, I took them out. I might put them back in sooner or later.

Gottcha, theyre nice replacement struts, although if you plan on going lower idk how much they can handle.

Car looks good though, good luck with everything

Thx but, the b-pipe is on a hanger. For some strange reason the obx b pipes seem to sit low. I guess thats how they were made.

yo vibes,

When u installed the blues, did u replace anything else? For instance, the rubber parts in top strut assembly

No, I did'nt the guy that I bought it from already had new mounts and boots installed. Simple plug n play! Its been raining all day today so I was not able to drive the car yet. Advance Auto Parts gave me the wrong axle! I have to pick it up in the morning. Man, I need this car on the road asap!

Ok everybody, I finally got the right axle on! Since I had the transmission rebuilt I have to baby it for 500 miles before I break it in. Shifting feels better but, different. The ride of the Tokico Hp Blues is a big difference compared to stock. I have to get used to going over big bumps and pot holes since my car is lower. The ride is smoother. Turning is precise and you don't feel as much body roll compared to stock! IMO I like the Tokico Blues!

Here are the final pics!

What year is your max? This is the original paint from factory. I eventually need to get the body and paint done.
