What parts of your car light up?

I have a 96 GLE interior and I think some parts are missing lights (Dead bulbs).

My cruise button lights up when its on.
My Rear Defroster lights up all the time.
My Auto Climate control display lights up.

The buttons on the Climate control have NO lights--is this normal?
The Hazard button has NO lights---is this normal?

I was just curious, because sometimes I can't tell which button does what on the climate control at night.

Thanks,
Erik

RE:What parts of your car light up?

I know that the climate button which is depressed should light up(climate control). I don't think the hazard lights up. I'm sure if I'm incorrect we'll find out in a few minutes.

hazard lights --- Do you both mean the push button switch on left side of center vent, with a triagular symbol? I think it lights up all the time with red through the triagular symbol but not so bright.

Yeah, I thought so, mines out, what about the climate control...none of the buttons light up.

I've got one. The ring around where you put the key in. Is the whole circle supposed to light up? Only 1/2 of mine does, the half towards the rear. Didn't know if it was supposed to do that.

I just came back from my Max. Yes only about 1/3 of the circle towards the drive lights up, the rest lights up about half of the brightness I'd say. One time I looked inside, it's an LED, maybe in the front. The ring probably has some stubs or such for assembly that block LED light.

My circle lights up evenly and completely.

Was it dark when you looked at it and were you looking at it from an angle? I just went and looked at mine again (its dark) and it looks completely lit up from an angle but if you look directly at it from the direction the key goes in you can clearly see that there is only a bulb on the side towards the back of the car.

The hazard light should be illuminated when the headlights are on, as should the rear defroster switch. On my 95 GXE manual controls, all buttons are illuminated and have led lights underneath each button that light up when they are pressed. The words "Cruise Control" on the switch should be illuminated with the headlights, and the green "cruise on" light should be illuminated whenever CC is on.
