water in rear light - pic

water in rear light - pic

every time after a rain i get water dripping into the trunk, of course, when opened. it usually roughly about 1 oz of water. anyone has the same experience?

yes i did also had to take the tail light out and reseal it u need a 8 mm deep well socket remove and reseal u might wanna take a look at where ur spare tire sits although it may look like a lil bit of water my spare tire area was completly under water

Yes I have the EXACT same problem. However, mine is because I have a crack in my tail light :P

I have never dealt with lights before. I appreciate with some details. Is it straightforward removal?

What kind of sealant is recommended? butyl rubber? a gasket if any?

disconnect the wire from the bulb assembly then remove the four 8 mm nuts then u will prolly have to pry up on the lens it in there tight no gasket i used silicon what already there is some black sticky stuff like they use for windshields u could find something at a parts store that will suffice i just caked it on then torqued it back down really straight foward

after getting all of the nuts off, a heat gun will help with getting the sealant around the light housing to release, just not too hot & not too long..lightly press out while heating.
