you have to take the whole center console off just be shure to unplug the cig lighter and the cover you removed ...2 srews on the back to the seats and remove the whole thing take of like 4 screws on the black plastic of the gear changer to lift up the face with the D/R/P/2/1 and its one bulb in there its a 194 size...

I've never replaced my PRND21 bulb (I could not think of anything else to call it), but from what I can think of, here is how to get to it:

1. Park your car on an a level surface, and then insert key into engine. We are going to leave the key in there so we don't lose it.

2. Carefully pry off the plastic cover that covers the area. I prefer slightly lift the lower passenger side corner from the inside out (this meaning lift from the shifter cut out hole side), insert a flathead screwdriver in there, and gently pry up. The cover is held on by four snaps if I remember correctly, and two tabs. Four snaps on the lower part (where it is horizontal), and then, above the curve of the cover (near the cigarette lighter), the two tabs slip behind the center dash panel.

3. After you pop this cover off, the cigarette lighter is still connected, so just unplug the wires connected to the cigarette lighter. Do not take the cover off yet.

4. Now turn the key to ACC, and move the shifter to 'N'. This will give you more room to maneuver the cover around so you can get it out easier. After that, just take the cover off and remember to place your car in Park again.

5. From here on, I performed other repairs on my car, so I do not know how to change the PRND21 bulb.

Good Luck.

You sure there is a bulb that goes there I took off everything and only saw a couple of blue wires but no lighting.. I'm guessing there's a short there is a nasty coffee stain around the entire area

There is a bulb there and I have also replaced it before. Just follow the instructions in the above post and you will see it.
