what I did was get some color matched paint for like $2.00 from pepboys and paint the keyhole black. You can't really tell its there unless you get up close and are really looking for it.

or to totally remove it you would have to remove the assembly, but you would hve a hole left, and would have to get a body shop to fill and paint it, im sure shadow can give you the specifics

Basically you have to take it to a body shop. They have to remove your lock cylinder, weld the hold shut. The grind it down and smooth it out with filler. Then your entire trunklid has to be repainted. It's about a $3-400 job. I had mine done when my entire car was repainted.

What do you mean 'how do you do that?'. That's like asking how do you shave your doorhandles. The answer is by spending a lot of money at a body shop. I removed my own lock and trunk carpet so as to save the .5 hours in labor but that's all I could do. It was off to the body shop for everything else. I can't give you a price as I had a number of things done at the same time (shaved antenna, etc.) Just paint it body color if you are low on funds.

Dude, it's so easy. Get a hammer and smash it in. Then, you are done. Simple as that.

well if you want the ghetto way to do it, remove the keyhole assembly, buy some bondo and fill the hole. sand it down so its flush. buy some paint that matches and paint the bondo. wet sand to match. but it wont ever look right because the paint will never match.

Why would a thread like this get revived exactly a year later?

get different price quotes from shops. mine was done as a favor so i can't give you a price to pay, but removing te key holes looks 10 times better.
