Oil Change

Oil Change

Planning on changing my own oil soon. What weight should i go with. Im in NJ and its not that hot yet.
I was gonna use mobil 1 high mileage 5w 30, or 10w 30
by the way i have a 98 maxima with 168k miles

i use 10w-30 its standard , if you use synthetic dont go back and forth to regular oil its bad for your engine.

manual is 5w 30.

I use Castrol GTX High Mileage 5w-30 with K&n Hp-1010 Oil Filter.

Don't pay more for "High Mileage" oil blends. If it's the same price it's OK to use as it doesn't help/hurt either way. It's just impossible to quantify any benefit of certain marketing of oil.

5W-30 is recommended for nearly every situation.
