Had an interesting run with an 02 Q45

I was getting onto I-80 and there was a new Q45 behind me. As we got out of the turn getting onto the expressway, he jumped across 3 lanes to the far left and opened it up. I saw all of this in my rear view, so I punched it. Well a couple of seconds later and 100 mph later, I was still out in front of him. He pulled up beside me and looked at the car and then preceeded to pull off, so I punched it again, and we were side by side. A couple of miles later he pulled up next to me and gave me the thumbs up.

Question: Is that car that heavy or did he not know how to drive?

Anyway, it was fun, D*mn I luv my MAX.

I had an interesting run in with a Hennesy Viper. No matter what he did I was always ahead. Does it matter that he was parked?

I've read that the Q uped it's horses but it still doesn't quite use it well. Maybe he was loaded down or just trying to "break it in" a lil

It is basicly a small tank. Meant for luxury not outright speed.

just because he jumped 3 lanes and opened it up doesn't mean he was racing.

Q45 is pretty heavy. I've read as heavy as a 3800lbs or more. It takes all of those horses to move that boat. I'm sure he barely heard his car a 100mph later, where yours was screaming to stop hurting it. I'm sure he was also checking his stock portfolio and watching "Dr. Doolittle" all at the same time while driving. But its a nice car to have under your belt. Nice shooting tex...road kill

gee thanks for stating something thats already been said

anyway, the q45, if driven by a teen and not some retired floridian, should have smoked you. but like someone said, those things are small tanks.

one cool thing to do in a q45, smoke people, then watch them from the rear view cameras it has

I didn't know that.

wich ones? i hope you mean the 97.5-01 4.1 liter; they were kinda slow. the 91-97 4.5 280hp can fly. drive one in good order and you will see.

The New Q45's have terrible transmissions. The tiptronic mode is useless because it automatically upshifts at a specific point. It wont let you hold the rpms to redline. The auto tranny also takes forever to downshift at higher speeds. Infinity didnt fully take advantange of the available 340hp.

0-60 in 5.9 and 1/4 mile in 14.9@94.7 mph. That's lightly modded 5 speed maxima territory. They arent that fast. Nothing that's going to compare to a 540i or GS400 or something like that.

Even though the car mags didn't give it very high marks, for the $$$ (what else when it's in the Nissan family??!) I think it's got alot of cool features. I think he could have smoked you if he really wanted to, but people who drive those cars usually aren't looking for that.
