Aftermarket gauges, which wire to use to dim?

Hey Guys,

I want to dim my oil pressure, volt, and A/F gauge for night time cruising (blue led in the gauges are powerful!). I need to know where I can tap into to have it dim. I know you aren't supposed to use the actual dimmer but the headlight switch. I'll look myself/search but while I'm doing that if someone can help that would be great.

Thanks

What kind of gauges are they? Do you have a link to installation instructions?

Why does it say you cant use the dimmer switch for this? Its three wires and one is ground so trial and error.

The dimmer controls ground so you need to check the wires with the switch in both positions. I tapped into the illumination wires at either the hazard or defroster switch. I cant remember the colors off the top of my head.

JSutter your a genius. I don't know why I didn't think of that, so simple. As for wire color I'll do a trial and error with a volt meter.

Thanks!
