5th gen headers on a 4th gen?

How much modding is needed to put the equal length OBW header/Y combo for 5th gens on a 4th gen. Would replacing the flex-back section with a 4th gen one make it work or am i missing another reason why it wouldnt fit. It seams to me like this is the easiest/cheapest way to get a equal length(ish) setup for a 4th gen with a 3.5 swap.

95-03 headers are interchangeable, 01-03 will not have EGR.

If you get the header/ypipe combo yes. I too plan on getting the OBX headers for the 02-03 and put them on my max.

The rear o2 bung has to be removed and relocated. It doesnt clear the steering rack otherwise. Might need to grind down the rear motor mount cover too. I didnt have to grind xmember down.

So all in all the $350 5th gen obx headers on eBay are worth a try. I don't wanna dump 700 on cattman for just a guaranteed fit and a sticker.

Great writeup Aaron! What y and catback were you running prior to install? Pretty loud. Mine got quieter. I was running a Stillen Y with my current GReddy SP. Since install, the car has gotten quieter but WAY smoother sounding.
