Generally, a flood title on a modern computer-controlled vehicle like the Maxima is not worth it. Dump it.

also there is a problem of corrosion as well as MAJOR electrical problems... I would not invest in that unless he got the car for less than half price

Let's assume it was parked when it was flooded - not running. The intake issue would be irrelavant.

$5000 would be a deal for a flood vehicle? More like $2,500.

Also - was it a salt-water or fresh water flood? Yikes. Your friend is opening a huge can of worms on this one. The list of things potentially needing replacement is long and expensive.

He needs to dump that car like a fat girlfriend. Flood vehicles have major electrical problems, as well as problems with structural integrity because water has touched places never meant to be touched by water. Owning that car will be an absolute nightmare.
