The last time I changed my KS I actually felt a huge difference. It was the best and most noticeable "mod" I ever did.

change its harness. describe what feels like crap about the car. many things you could do as a tune up

change plugs, fuel filter, air filter, drop a can of bg 44k fuel system cleaner, sea foam, clean TB & MAF

I'm getting Speed Sensor and KS codes also - bought both sensors - replaced VSS but speedometer (which also affects odo) still working intermittently.

KS is sitting new in a box - I read about the easier way to do it but don't feel I can tackle the job. Anyone around SouthFL that can help me replace my KS (I believe it's bank 1)?

There is one KS for both banks. It's not that hard if you have small hands, or a friend thusly eqipped.

The HR has dual KS's, one for each bank.

Just like the 09 thread in the AM forum ....

By the looks of the KS in your pics, it would seem as though that car has been severely overheated.

Did you have other codes. A bad KS itslef WILL NOT set the light on. Other codes will trigger a bogus KS code. Bad KS will cause loss of power and mileage, but will not cause poor running (missfire).

Do a resistor mod in the subharness to ensure that you dont have a bad KS or bad harness..........

the only code i got was a p0325, so i changed the KS, i have read that i need to replace the sub-harness, the symptoms i get is when i put it in gear(manual) and accelerate i get this hesitation feel then it finally accelerates good, i did notice a drop in my gas mileage, i have done TB, IAC, MAF cleaning, replaced spark plugs to iridiums, i do get a faint smell of gas sometimes, i do not have any timing data, i should take is somewhere and see what the timing is, when i first got the car in february it did run clean, could it be that i had put 87 octane gas and now went back to 91? i love my maxima, i appreciate all the comments as well thanks guys, i appreciate all the feedback as possible to get my ride back up and running like normal again

i maybe need to put some seafoam, i did clean the air filter and replaced the fuel filter, something i just remembered my cuzin told me when i bought the car that the gas tank needs some sort of seal or gasket because it leaks if i fill the tank up and park it at an incline

for that scent of gas when you fill it up, check the gas filler tube that runs from the gas inlet port on the side of the car down to the gas tank. My '98 max exhibited the same symptom and when the mechanic pulled off the cover for the gas filler tube (located in the left rear wheel well) we foudn that the tube was completely rusted through. Cost $8 to replace and the smell went away completely.
