Hi,when I was changing my strut I notice I have a rip in the rubber boot not the one under the strut the one on the bar that is connected to the tie rod. What is the correct name for that part? Is it an easy fix? Is there any links for repairing it? Please help if you can.

If you are referring to the one on the inner tie rod, that's referred to the rack and pinion boot.

 

Also refereed to as rack and pinion bellow. You can replace it by removing the outer tie rod end, then remove the boot/bellow, then slip the new one on and get an alignment (or do it yourself if you are cool ). Dirt and moisture may have gotten in due to the rip, so you need to inspect your inner tie rod end to see if it needs replaced. A search of the forum should find you the information you need to replace the inner tie rod end if necessary.
