Bees! Yes I know.. but ive tried everything

Hi all,

I have a set of extractors/headers which I purchased some time ago. Ever since they were put in my car has had a horrible buzzing bee sound.

I know this problem has been covered many times before, but I have covered all bases and it still persists.

Exhaust is: headers -> y-section -> flex section -> cat -> 2.5" pipe -> muffler

No resonators exist in the pipe. After the cat it's straight through..

I have done the following.
  1. Replaced the entire B-Pipe section and muffler
  2. Cleared out the Cat Converter (It's now hollow)
  3. Replaced the flex section
  4. Exhaust/header wrapped the flex section
  5. Replaced all flange gaskets with new ones
  6. Checked for leaks, exhaust is completely air tight

I'm really out of ideas.... sick of my car sounding like a honda

You gotta put a bucket of water under the Max and smack it so it falls into the bucket. Wear heavy clothing, gloves, and a face mask if you can. You can also smoke the Maxima out by putting a burning barrel underneath it but this is obviously not recommended unless absolutely necessary.

Resonator was removed when the stock b-pipe was pulled out. Was only 2.25". I asked for a 2.5" b-pipe, so the general consensus is... resonator. Ok.. off the the shop I go. Thanks everyone.. except for j-dawg.. who knows what hes been smoking

Get the biggest resonator you can fit in the b pipe. Also make sure you get a perforated core resonator, not a louvered(sp) core as they hinder flow.
