Just finished last repair and a new noise has arrived. Thought it was brake pads and checked them and they are ok. Here I am with a grinding noise from the driver side front.

Any suggestions as what I need to check?

Do wheel bearing or CV joints grind when going bad?

not hearing the noise its hard to say but bad wheel bearings do make a funny grinding noise

 

Grinding more often wheel bearing. CV axles tend to "click" while turning as they fail.

 

Edit the "axel". Not trying to be a PITA but just don't like my name being misused

Haha! Naw. At least I inherited the nick for a good 4 years throughout High School.

 

it could be the rotors riding against the backing plate too. I think im gettin this same noise now.
