I just got a 97 SE that does not have the factory keyless entry. I would like to buy and install an aftermarket system (Avital or Viper i think).

Could anyone help me out with info on the wiring colors used in this car, and what type of lock system (I've been told its negative pulse).

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've convinced myself that I want to do as much of the maintenance and mods myself.

Thanks in advance!

Bruce

Dude!?!

I thought all SE models came with the security and convenience package (that included the remote entry).
Is this not the case?

Re: Dude!?!

Nope. I've seen some base level SEs, cloth interior, no BOSE system, etc . . . I think the only thing that EVERY SE has (97 and beyond) are the the star 16" rims, the white face gages, body color grille and door handles, and I think the 100 watt stereo. Everything else was an upgrade.
