Rotors milled??

Hello .org I've been slowly buying things for my 300zx caliper upgrade in my 95 maxima. I've been reading and other people were saying they had too mill down the rotors 4-8 mm.... Exactly what r they talkn about I don't understand

but the rotor is too tall to use that set up with the stock brackets so you have to mill the outter diameter to fit

When mounting the Z32 caliper onto the A32's caliper mounts it will cause the rotor to hit the inside of the Z32 caliper since its much larger then the A32 caliper. So you have to mill off some of the outer diameter.
Also, if your using the A32's bolts, use a coupler of washers or they will hit the rotor. You will also need to grind down some of the LCA cause they will also hit the rotor since its much thicker then the A32 rotor.

You asked an advanced question about a retrofit BBK so I figured I would refer you to the sub forum specifically for this type of question, which has been asked and answered before.

oem rotors aren't that expensive but q45 rotors and every other setup for a BBK would be extremely costly to "just buy new ones"

But doesnt make sense to just throw away money if you dont have to.
Money saved can be applied else where.
Ahigh end set of name brand rotors really areant "cheap", and AutoZone rotors or the likes of arent considered high end rotors.
But yes, they would be cheap enough to replace at every pad change.
