Well, its been a very short run with all of you. I got my 1998 Max SE back in April of last year. If I would've been interested in cars before hand, I would've opted for the 5speed. I was dumb, I neutral dropped her about 10 times and instantly I noticed the slightest different in how smooth the shifts were from then on. I modded her, put all the parts on myself. SO much blood, sweat, and tears(currently holding them back) went into this car. Maxi is my baby and I will never forget her. She succumbed to the stupidity and immaturity of just another teenager. I rear-ended somebody last week(only at 30mph) but enough to smash the bumper in and fold the hood. Fixed her for $200 to running, not pretty condition. Then shortly after, about three days ago, she wouldn't go into 3rd gear. Thats when I decided I just can't make it work for a car I paid $2700 for. I'm selling her as-is to my buddy for $1000. I took off some parts and I'm selling them in my other thread. Buy some stuff from a fellow .org member!
I bought a 98 Honda civic 5 speed which will help me save up for school, and a 5.5 gen 6speed
. I knew I'd be back before I left. Goodbye to you all, and good luck! VQ POWER!

and pics will be up soon.
now that you have a civic there are two things you need
1- numerus decals from aftermarket mod companies (especialy if you dont have the mods)
2- a massive spoiler (extra points if its made of plywood)
good luck getting a 5th gen soon

Buying a used honda is like using a used condom.....why even both? Hondas are garbage they are cheap to fix only because theres so many around however why buy something that is gonna need work? you shoulda threw a tranny in her for 300 for the part and put it in yourself for free?
lol if I could keep my maxima, I really would. But I really dont wanna be dumping money on a new tranny, hood, ac compressor, a charge for the ac compressor, AND on top of all that still drive autotragic. I LOVE my maxima but its time to get a car with double the MPG's and something that will get me less speeding tickets

What's wrong with buying a honda to save $$$ for school? He didn't mention of modding it to replicate the civics from the Fast & The Furious. Why flame? And if I recall, un-modified Honda's are pretty reliable cars among it's competition. We forget, there are people outside of the tuner world who buy Civics for just that. Reliability and affordability.
You know, I usually wouldn't say anything but I sense heavy Nissan nut-swinging with this post. I just don't seem it's necessary when you own a 90's Maxima that have slews of problems.

I agree w/ Mo.
Hondas are a good car man. Jus have to get an alarm installed ASAP and u good.
BUT they still a 4cyl.
once u get a taste of that VQ tho
it never really goes away lol
My i30 has over 200k on it, I've done all labor needed to keep this car running. I know it's worth it every time I driver her. the VQ30DE was rated in the top ten best engines for over 12 years consecutively. I will keep this car running until it won't go any further and then I'll drop a VQ35 to replace it when it finally does quit.
