Any of you 4th geners out here know what this is
Lol, well im hoping it does, my blower dont work at all so im hoping maybe this was the replacement part that never got installed, or the defective part ... i tried to run a part number lookup but came back with nothing thus far
ok so i just looked, and i see where that piece would fit but theres no hole in the box for it but in its place is a 4 blade blue looking resistor mounted in the same location....
yea i think i may need to buy a new one just not this style lol, which isnt going to happen todday seein all junkyards and auto stores are closed.... besides im more concerned with getting a new maf and knock sensor first loi dont need ac or heat right now just put windows down and go faster lol
The interior in that shot looks like ish, clean up some of that trash lol .
Going to have to wear a condom to sit on them seats.

Yea i already found a diagram online, my resistor is different, and down below the motor, i dont hae to take anything apart to get to it, the one that was in my console i assume they thought they could use but either never got to it or tried and realized it wasnt the right part, no biggie, 40 bucks at the store for a new one....
This link may explain what your part actually is....

The "module" is a small circuit board with a few electronic parts and one "MosFet" transistor that acts like an old fashioned resistor....

i was able to use that as a guide to fix my sisters 5.5 we got lucky with hers it only needed the solder retouched as it cracked away. (also needed a new blower motor)
infact anytime ive changed either fan amp or blower motor resistor the blower motor is the actual culprit.
when the bearings go out on the blower motor it turns more slowly and does not use aall the voltage going to it, this extra voltage is used up as heat in the blower motor resistor.
Extra current vs "unused" voltage

Glad to help. As for the bad blower, the cause of the heat is actually extra current (amps). Because the motor is dragging (turning slower 'cause it has a mechanical issue) it takes more power to make it turn. That extra current "draw" is what heats up the "resistor circuit" gizmo. Like everything else, it has a limit to what it will allow to pass before it goes poof and lets the smoke out..... We all know that the smoke inside electronic parts is the magic that makes it all work!
yea thats what i was tryin to say sometimes its hard to explain but either way you prolly need BOTH now
