1 start car/ pop hood
2 remove oil filler cap
3 if it blows alot of air out thats not good
A little blow by is normal but on mine you can see it and it basiclly looks like the exhaust is exiting out the oil filler cap hole.

Yeah...
I hope your car's okay Sprinty. I'm sure you'll have a few warranty problems with your nitrous, so just hope nothing blows. And Tilley man that really sucks. But a total build up of a new engine will be good, and since your dad is a mechanic you shouldn't have much trouble installing it. Maybe next time you guys will go with a little smaller shot? First the people with S/Cs have mad problems, now people with nitrous our blowing engines. Sadly, the "best" mods are destroying the cars they're in.

I think perhaps the worst part of this is that the main offending moment seemed to happen when you were flexing your muscle at a Saturn. Heh...I personally always found it a little amusing when guys would go mod-happy on a car, and then would mostly talk about how they mobbed on some Civic or Cavalier out on the roads, cars that they would have spanked in a race anyways

Okay, this thread is getting me worried. TILLEYS99's problem was because he didn't have a window switch, so I'm not worried about that, because I plan on installing one.
But Sprite, do you know what's caused your engine problems?

Eric don't get worried.. i am not 100% sure whats going on yet.. i will find out soon.. one other idea might be bent valve springs.. which i hear is almost impossible to do on a VQ.. so its all speculation.. don't worry..

Nothing will happen with running rich but you won't feel that your car is smoth .

On cars like rx7's, they have to be tuned right. They are VERY picky about the A/F mixture. If you mod that car w/o tuning, the car runs very rough and next thing you know, you have problems.
My cousin plays wiht MKIVs, RX7's, 300ZX, Lightnings, Mustangs, & Porsche. He has to make some sense.

Let this be a lesson to all of you dont use NOS without a window switch. And synki I agree with you about running rich it will cause you to wash out the rings Ive heard that from this guy who has a 7 sec. tube frame Vega. I wouldnt worry about NOS hurting your motor unless your using a big shot.

I never had a problem with 100hp dry system. I always ran one step colder plugs and made sure the nozzle was pointer in the right direction
If I didnt get the SC I would have gone to perhaps 125hp dry.
They key with all big performance DIY modifications are to increase power levels in a controlled, claculated and conservative approach. And dont skimp on the parts.
