Weather Stripping

I'm starting to get rust around my door pillar and I think it might have been caused from the old weather stripping. Has anyone replaced the weather stripping before? And if so do you have a procedure and the name of the adhesive used?

mine pretty tight fix, go to advanced auto, napa, ETC... and get weather strip adhesive and put a god (technically amount) every 10-12" and in the corners and at the ends, and you should be good
