Ct Emissions

My car is due for emissions but unfortunatelty, it has the check engine light due to a couple codes. Since its a swap, the codes that are coming up are all codes that can't be so easily removed without a lot of time and money investment and don't add to the car running any better. My question is, does anybody know of any spots in Ct that will pass a car with a CEL on? I don't mind throwing them a couple extra bucks to pass the car for me either. If you do know of a spot, send me a pm so nobody gets in trouble. Need this ASAP so please keep me posted guys.

I'm from CT too. If you are old enough you remember that the emissions used to be done by envirotest emissions (a contractor). They were shut down for fraud among other things. Any shop that passes you would risk fines and losing the ability to do emission tests. It's the easiest money they can ever make. Also, posting online would amount to an admission of guilt if shop names are used.

Best bet is go to a family owned shop that does emissions and ask them to work on your car.

its too hard for a shop to do all the shops that do emissions tests have a camera setup on the bay from 8am to 5pm so the state can watch at anytime. there are also other safe guards, bottom line its too risky inCT. i had a guy in the past when it was contacted to envirotest. when i lived in TX i also had a guy but he got raided by the FBI. so... im not surprised ...lol they don't take that **** lightly anymore
