Nismo Decal On Hood

I got this Nismo decal i want to put on the drivers side of the hood above the headlight.
Problem is i never applied one before and don't want to screw it up(crooked, bubbles, etc.) Never been a fan of decals.
So should I prep the area some how?
What are the measurements to make it look good?
I've seen some 4th gens on this forum with the small nismo logo the same way i want it i just forgot who.
Advice please.

dont use rubbing alcohol on paint...wtf....just wash it...the most 'stripping' you want to use is dish detergent to wash the car...be sure to wax the car soon after though

I use rubbing alcohol all the time...I didnt say soak the paint it. Cured automotive clearcoat is not damaged by rubbing alcohol. It will remove wax as well as any surface dirt, which is exactly what you want. Leave the dish detergent for the ducks. You deff need to wax the car right after though.

I'd rub a clay bar over the area after washing it too.

I would not follow this advice...

The execution of an action, is not in itself, validating.

i used to make stickers and tints and rubbing alcohol is used to clean glass from dirt. not to apply stickers with or clean paint. thats one reason why the soapy water solution is used. so you can clean the surface, wipe it down, spray again and squeegee it on. the reason you spray and apply the sticker on a wet soapy water mix is so you can adjust and move it around to your liking. cant do that w rubbing alcohol.

Nope, I saw it on one of the members cars in his or her pics.
I know, I know I'm a biter for doing it.
Also never knew there was this much hate for the nismo decal. Maybe it's the location. But i like it.

There is still one thing that irks the **** out of me about it. There is some sticky residue on top of the letters. wonder if it will go away if i run it through a car wash.

I agree with the water and soap to apply the sticker. I said use the rubbing alcohol to prep the area thats all. Idk what you guys say, wiping cured automotive paint with rubbing alcohol will not damage it. Prove me wrong...

actaully the best way to put a decal on is to soak your car in lacquer thinner. and make sure it really sets into the paint.
