Automatic Shifter indicator light/ light around cig lighter

Hi everyone,
The auto shifter indicator light is currently out as well as the light around the cig lighter in my 96 Maxima. The car was the shop for E-brake repair, and they had to remove the center console to fix it. Well now I have no lights there as indicated above.
Prior to the repair of the E-brake, at times the shifter light would be out and all I would need to do would be to tap the indicator light area gently, and it would light up. I assume the bulb is ok,so it "should" be something related to the connection. Does anyone have an idea where those two light are connected? How do I go about checking them? Is there a seperate fuse in the box for those two lights?

Thanks,
Zack

Well to be fair to the shop, it was having "some" issues before. As I said at times it would be out, and I would tap the shifter light area, and it would work.....Now when you tap ythe shifter light area it does not light up.

Thanks,
Zack

Well I popped the black plastic trim off, but from there where do I go? I have no clue how to open up the shift indicator unit? I could not find any wires, or how to open up the unit. What am I missing? What kind of bulb is in there?

It is annoying driving the car at night with no light down there...

Thanks,
Zack

Pop your shifter trim up and check if they forgot to plug some plugs in. There is two plugs I know of down there on my 5speed

On my auto, I could not seem to locate any wires, I assume they are under the shifter unit. Is there a bulb to burn out in there? I checked my fuses, and they are fine.

PS: Everyone else jas a green light around your cig lighter correct?

I have not heard or seen a light around the cig lighter in my 95 either. Your bulb probably needs to be replaced.
