MAF SWAP QUESTION.....

Can I put a 96 MAF in place of a 99MAF without there being any problems? I know the plugs on the MAF are different but I was planning on doing some plug and play to get the 96 to fit the 99. Basically I want to swap the KNOWN GOOD MAF on my 96 to the UNKOWN BAD MAF on the 99 to see if that's the problem I am having. Will swapping the 96 over cause any problems? Will the 99 ecm read the 96 MAF? Could swapping the 96 MAF to 99 cause the MAF to go bad? Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

There the same in how they function is what you are saying I am assuming. So if they function the same then there should be no problem with swapping it out besides the fact that I have to take off the 96 plug with wires to put the MAF on the 99..sounds good I am about to swap them out. Thanks!

everything is the same plug and play you dont have to take off the plug just take the sensor form the 96 and plug it into the 99
