I have a 5 speed 98 max and I need to add tranny fluid after i changed my half shaft and all the fluid leaked out.I didn't no I would lose that much fluid but it did.I had the front up on jack stands and I guess from the car being tilted so much the fluid leaked out.Anyway I had amsoil mtg 80-90 gl4 in it That I put in 65000 miles ago.Car now has 135k on it.I did a lot of research back then but am having trouble finding what to use now.I know about red line mt-90 but some have complained about it being a little notchy.What are you guys using now?Red line also makes an mt85 which is 75w85 gl4.I know it's been talked about a lot but not lately.Any other fluids that I should consider. Thanks.

 

amsoil or redline 75w90. used both and either one is great

65,000 miles is probably pushing the envelope on whatever gear oil you use.

 

I hear great things about AMSOIL and Redline. I would stick to those 2

 

Consider Pennzoil Synchromesh. Worked wonders in my MR2 and you can get it at local parts stores for ~$5-7/qt.
