Fuel Injector service suggestion
Fuel Injector service suggestion
I have a 95 Max GLE with 113K miles.
I've started working on both valve cover gasket replacement project and have the UIM off the motor and my fuel rail is ready to be lifted off the intake as well.
I've had my fuel injectors (entire assembly on fuel rail) flow tested, serviced at a local carb & fuel injector shop when my GLE had 82K miles (9 years ago). Reason for testing my fuel injectors back then at 82K miles is because I had to replace both valve cover gaskets due to #3 spark plug hole (rear side VC) was filled with motor oil, so it was perfect chance to flow test/service original injector assembly out of the motor at a shop.
So it's been only 31K miles although 9 years ago since previous fuel injector service. My wife drives the car and she puts low miles on it.
Reason for redoing VC gasket replacement again this time around is that last time I replaced VC gaskets, I made the mistake of not applying liquid gasket on the corners of VC gaskets and had slow oil leak from both VC's since then. Couple of weeks ago, I've replaced leaking original water pump and decided it's time to fix that dirty oil leak from VC's. I'm glad I started VC gasket replacement because I found #3 cylinder spark hole was filled with oil again...
I guess it was perfect timing.
Getting back to fuel injector service suggestion.
Do you guys think I should have my fuel injectors tested and serviced again at an injector shop? Cost is pretty spendy over $300.00 for the set for flow test, service and install new O-rings.
I did talk to one of the local shops and the manager there thought my injectors aren't ready yet for another service and I should be able to just re-install the entire fuel rail assembly back on as is without installing new o-rings.
Would like to hear your opinions and suggestions.
TIA!
