Where do you get your paint?

I have the paint codes and everything I need to purchase the paint I just need to know where.

I would like to not pay a alot obviously but I don't want some crap paint either. Autozone and places like that so far only carry spray cans and I haven't found a location where I can give them the color code and they give me the paint.

Maybe I'm oversimplifying the situation or maybe I haven't looked in to it enough

Either way I need to paint these body panels and soon! Can't handle the mismatched look anymore!

Advanced Auto has the spray paint by code for my Max (CG2)...The spray cans they sell actually work pretty well from what I found. They spray evenly and uniform. I painted my new front fenders with them.

No clearcoat, so if you study them closely you can notice that, but the color is perfect.

if you want your car to look good, especially a year after the paintjob, you will not use spray can. especially with no clearcoat.

Except if I really wanted mine to look nice again, I'd really have to totally repaint the whole thing. The fenders actually look better than most of the rest of it...there's places that are discolored for some reason, etc. I probably won't hold onto it much longer anyway, a torquey front wheel drive isn't practical in the winter here, plus it's got 225K and salt is eating the rest of it alive. It would take too much to revive it completely at this point. By the end of the summer, I think I'm getting an H-6 Outback or possibly a mid-size pickup, and the Max will become the beater/road trip vehicle until something happens that isn't worth fixing.

PPG and house of color are not the same thing. house of color is pretty expensive though. i would try and find a body shop that sprays sherwin williams and see if you can get a couple quarts. sherwins pretty easy on the wallet.

also it hardly matters if you buy PPG, dupont, sherwin. they all pretty much have the same paints and can match your color.

I picked up a quart at sherwin williams last month. They make paints for nissan so you'll get your best color match from them. Before I started using the paint gun I had NAPA make a can for $20. It was fairly good for small paint jobs.

sherwins good ****. it all depends what line you get though. theres cheap sherwin paints and expensive sherwin paints. the most expensive line is the ultra7000 i believe. i forget what one of the cheaper lines is. youll still get a good color match with the cheaper stuff.

Google "Auto Body Supply" and pick the one closest to you.
Give them a call, ask what brand of paint they carry (if it really matters) and if they'll pre mix it for you. You'll need a gun to spray it, you'll need clear too.
You can ask if they can make it in single stage, although I wouldn't recommend it.

Have them paint it with their paint. Your paying for labor.

you cant do that. shops only spray one brand of paint. youd have to buy the same paint they use which would defeat the purpose anyway.
