Just saying Hi as a new maxima owner

Hi,

I just bought a 1996 A32 with under 27K miles on the clock...

I almost bought some UK rocking Horse P** it was a MANUAL 3 litre Max A32, but every panel was dented and showing rust so I walked. We only usually got the 3 litre auto and the 2 litre auto or manual, someone must have banged their shoe on the salesman's desk!!!

Anyone know if the aftermarket ECU's works on the UK models?

Damn that is some low miles if that's true 27,000 miles that's like less than 1800 a year, don't know about the ECU for the UK.....

Japan also got 2.5 litre maxima's, but not seen those over here. I have main dealer stamps in the book and several past annual inspection sheets (MOT) that show it is true mileage, its not fully run in yet.

Damn bro, congratz on the buy. Just curious how much quid(quid right? like the guy on Top Gear says???) u put down?
And any aftermarket ECU that works on any other Maxima should work on the "UK" version.
Try looking for a Greddy E-Manage.

Well here are some pics and the price:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISA...:X:AAQ:GB:1123
In real life the car is slightly deeper red than the pics imply.

It doesnt even qualify for this thread as it is too cheap:

I am also looking for an ecu that is a true replacement, not an e-manage or any of those, they are quite limited in their true scope from what I have read. I also want one I can update myself later. longer term I intend to fit an LC1 and log the cells in use etc to fine tune the initial pass when the ecu gets fitted.

By the way, torque steer seems quite bad, is this normal?

Also the 2 litre was only 139 HP!!!

The UK Maxima's look like the US Infiniti i30's

Congrats on your buy. Looks like it's in amazing condition for the age. And 27k Miles That's crazy low. I didn't even know it was possible to find a 4th gen Max with that low of mileage.

As for the ECU replacement: We have a few places in the US that do ECU upgrades where you ship them in and they tune them up and then ship them back. Or you can get one like on the Cattman website.
http://www.cattman.com/prod_ecu.html

I would assume it would work the same as the ones here in the US as long as you have the VQ30DE under the hood.

As for the torque steer: it would seem you have an issue with something. I have over 200hp in my 4th gen and never get any torque steer with full throttle in first gear. My i30 doesn't have torque steer. I've always considered these cars great for front wheel drive drag cars because there is no torque steer. Perhaps that would change if you add boost. I've never driven a boosted Maxima so I wouldn't know.

Once again, Welcome to the Org!

Thanks,

The torque steer is noticed when I floor it, as it is an automatic. This morning I also noticed that all four tyres are different makes...
