1995 Maxima Se, 5 speed. Brand new greddy full cat back installed. Stock airbox. Are there any tricks, other than buying a CAI, to make it louder? Greddy only makes good noise at low RPM. If i remove the stock airbox resonator, will it make it louder? I know a K&N doesn't make it louder, but i ordered a K&N panel filter. I know once i get the K&N i can do more mod's to stock air box b/c it filters more. So what are some tricks to make stock airbox better? Thanx

wait a little so the muffler kinda breaks in a bit...the noise will get louder.
also adding a high flow filter will make it louder...more air flow.
if you want all out noise then sell the greddy and get a cat back mandrel piping and put a high flow muffler and not use any resonators.
me personally like quiet...but it's to each his/her own.

You should get an adaptor style intake. It replaces the entire air box, and replaces it with a K&N cone filter. It only cost me $100, and is MUCH better and louder than just the panel, which I had before! It's well worth it, return the panel filter and get the cone intake for only $60 more dollars!

My car is LOUD!

I just got a cat back put on this week with no resonator. I had a shop build mine and had a MagnaFlow muffler put on. I also have the CAI. Air goes straight in and straight out. My girl's not real happy with it. You have to talk rather loud when driving around. I like it though. If she wants quiet, she can go drive her stock Max. I used to have a K&N cone style intake and I really liked the sound. I'll sell it to ya for $50+shipping if you want it. I used it for about 3 months. Still like new. I'll include the adapter for the MAF as well.

Buy a 2" holesaw and >>>

drill holes liberally on that nice shiny SP muffler...hehe
You could also buy a Y-Pipe... surefire way to increase exhaust noise...

Intakes make their own noise...

What year is your Max? Do you have all the hardware and instructions for your K&N? I e-mail you but our network is all messed up and I can't receive e-mail until tomorrow. I am intersted in it.

well for intake noise you can't go wrong with the CAI...it will be MUCH louder at higher RPM's than the greddy....
