led mod

so im getting ready to do the led mod to my interior as soon as my leds show up anyone have any suggestions or cautions for me to take when doing this? i have someone helping me that has electrical and soldering background i did plug and play white leds in gauge cluster but everywhere else in car (shifter, map, dome, cc, window, door handles, under rear of driver/pass seat, under driver/pass side of dash, under front of driver/pass seat, and in trunk) will all be done with 5mm leds (unless i have to get a diff size for certain spots but does anyone have any suggestions or anything for me to consider before doing all of this?)

careful with the circuit boards on the doors.. theyre highly sensitive to the heat and you dont want to damage those.

solder flux is your friend...

the CC has limited room to work in. go check out the pic of how i did the leds for that in the interior led thread... its towards the end.

5mm might be a little large for the doors. my 3mm are pretty bright as is...

im doing 5mm everywhere i can im putting 100 5mm leds in the interior of the car lol all ran on different switches (that are not in like doors or cc or w/e else that has lights in it stock) for when im at car shows or whatever else.)

this car is being made up for shows is why its going green on interior (even getting my seats re-done in green leather) going to get custom green trim pieces green door panels etc.... and outside will be black paint black tails smoked corner lights headlights and bumper lights. once i get the fender fixed and front bumper fixed i will be painting car black right now its that arctic white pearl color. and i was told to repaint it that same color would cost me in excess of 2,000$

also thanks for the tips anyone else have anymore?

its not being hondatech this isn't an ordinary daily driver either its being modified for show so i dont care what you think i paid for the car i paid for the modifications i will do whatever i want to it. atleast im not putting a 6" lift and 28s on it...and not only hondas have leds under dash and seats so basically you are just discriminatory to anyone who has a show car that is aftermarket.

and dont spam on my thread i asked for opinions and suggestions to help me with the mod not for people to come in bashing it....

When you ask for opinions, get ready for positive and negative comments.

Not trying to bash you, just stating my opinion

Couple things...

1) It doesnt sound like you know what youre doing, hence why you have someone else doing the LED work.

2) Buying LEDs in bulk and throwing them everywhere in just because you have them does not make your car showcar worthy.

3) If you cant afford the 2k for a respray you cant afford to get your car repainted a different color and expect showcar results.

4) Your car, do what you want. But if you start a thread asking opinions be prepared for mixed opinions.

5) Good luck with the LEDs and your showcar. Dont forget the LEDs in the washer nozzles.

first of all on #3 i dont have to pay 2k for a respray i have a friend that owns a body shop so that one doesnt matter and when did i say i couldnt afford a respray....i never said i couldnt afford it only time i said i didnt want to spend alot of money was on performance because ive been in alot of trouble with police and dont see the point in dumping excessive money for performance..

secondly im not putting leds in just because i have them from buying in bulk im putting them in to accent the car and its interior that is being custom designed for the car

third i dont know what im doing when it comes to electrical hence why i have someone HELPING ME do this not DOING IT FOR ME. read what i say and pay attention dont assume things.

fourth yes thats right it is my car i will do what i want and the led washer nozzles look retarded as hell and would never be worthy on a car i own ive probably owned more cars in the 4 years ive been driving than most people on this forum. and not from me wrecking them or anything else i buy them drive for a few months get bored sell and buy something new yes i have blown motors up in cars and i have wrecked one or two but i have owned over 20 cars from mercedes with giovanni rims to an 88 toyota corolla to a 99 passat turbo 90 integra and i dont need to list all of my cars its a waste of my time typing and a waste of the readers time. but just for instance right now i drive a 2005 chevy malibu classic, a 2003 nissan altima, and my maxima and on the side i drive my dads 2010 altima every once in a while i have a 2002 beetle turbo i just rebuilt the heads on because previous owner busted timing belt and bent valves and i have a kia rio thats been sitting in the street while i waited for the head to get finished because same thing happened to it i believe its a 2002 im not sure the year never cared i bought it to fix and sell...i buy ****ed up cars just to rebuild them and not have to spend 8 grand on it in running condition i buy repair and sell cars for a living and i also hold 2 jobs so what i can afford and what i am willing to spend on certain things are completely different aspects.

yes i know what i am doing to MY car and i am not a retard and i never said just leds make a car show worthy i said it is going in a show car not a daily driver there is a ton of money planned out for this car i make 500$ a week at 20 years old which is plenty when i have no bills at all currently except a place to live.

so another way to say it is dont put words in my mouth read things before you assume and when someone asks for suggestions and help that doesnt mean come talk trash.

honestly dude, you seem to be jumping down his throat more then he yours.

id say rethink your color scheme and show car methods... if your twenty, your probably not old enough to understand what it takes to build a show car. No matter how many cars youve "owned, driven, rebuilt, sold, totaled, fixed, whatever"... less is more! and your more is rice... you might want to hit up a few shows and check out some of the rides in the class youd like to enter. you wont find "accent" leds in the foot wells and doors and whatnot...

oh, and turning the car from white to black is just dumb... it will never be show car worthy if you do this... because i doubt youll be pulling the motor and everything in the engine bay, fenders, hood, bumpers, doors, etc...

I 'assumed' you couldn't afford a respray because of the way you explained the cost of it. Nothing was mentioned about your buddy's shop. And where did you mention anything about performance? And you have problems with police because you're young and stupid.

Using the search would've given you everything you need to know about doing LEDs on the 4th gens. Sizes, resistors where needed, and how many has all been covered several times. If you'd done your research there would be no need for you to make this thread.

I pay attention just fine. You don't know what you're doing when it comes to electrical so you have someone doing the work and you'll be helping them. Got it.

So let me get this all straight...
You're 20, own a white 4th gen Maxima, have an a$$-load of LEDs that you don't know how to install, don't know how to use the search function, hope to have a showcar by painting you car black, smoking all the lights, doing a green interior, you've have owned multiple **** cars and like to brag about it, and make $500 a week.
Welcome to the org.

Good luck with your car.
