i need input on doing my rear main seal

i need som help doin my rear main seal on my 96 max and i have never done one so any tips on the job would help

First, I would verify that it is indeed leaking. 95% says its the upper oil pan half moon seal that is leaking which is directly under the rear main seal. You would have to reseal the upper oil pan to correct the problem.

no, unless you have to do it, don't. not an easy job, and rarely necessary. i asked my trans guy to do the rms when he did the trans and he said it did'nt need it. i also have a 95, i think what trini said is correct.

This. VE30DE, VQ30DE, VQ35DE... they've all got the same leak. It's very rarely the RMS. Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions once you get more information on what you're getting into.

i will verify that this is my problem but im pretty sure the rms is wher the leak is coming from though im still waiting for my rms to come in so i will check tommorrow to make sure that is my problem
