timing chain removal question

I have removed the upper oil pan and would like to continue on with the timing chain cover removal. Can I put a board and jack under the crankshaft to support the motor and undo the motor mount through the timing chain cover?

Thank you for the reply. That is what I thought but needed some confirmation. And moral support.

I ended up just replacing the crossmember temporarily and let it support the engine. There will be no need for a lift then.

That is a great idea also especially since I am already using my 3 jackstands and a floor jack already was going to have to borrow another floor jack to hold motor. What are the recommended parts I replace when i R&R that timing chain cover? If its nissan part numbers or links would be awesome. Thank you.

I would do the front main seal, and the 2 half moon gaskets for the upper oil pan. Everything else is just going to be silicone sealant. Don't forget to make sure the 2 o-rings on the upper oil pan go back on, if they look worn then replace them. Oh and idk if you plan on it but I would replace the water pump while your in there.

Yes I would do the main guide and tensioner, If you feel up to it change both secondary tensioners also just for peace of mind but those guides and ten. can get a bit on the pricey side from the dealer. Umm as far as behind the timing covers that about covers it. Most of the timing stuff on the 3.0s is pretty stout. I'm going to be putting an tensioner and water pump in mine next weekend after 310k haha.
