How to: Override cruise control (98 & 99 Maximas) **PIC**
Did this today and wanted to share because a lot of DIY out there are made for 95-97 Maximas where the ADSC module is blue. The brown one in 98+99 Maximas is a little different.

The ASCD relay is different for cars with a manual transmission versus the automatic transmission. In the manual trans cars, a single pole (one set of electrical contacts) relay is used, whereas the cars with an auto trans a dual pole (2 sets of contacts) is used. This applies to all years of the 4th gen Maxima.
Since you used 2 jumpers, you have an automatic transmission.
What is not the same on all years of the 4th gen is the location of the ASCD relay. 95 through 98 have the relay in the box in front of the battery, while the 99 & 5th gen have the relay by the power steering oil reservoir.
Nissan used to use color coded relays to indicate how many poles the relay was was; for example the single pole relay was blue, but they stopped that that. Maybe 98 was when they stopped, I don't really know.
