Starting problem

Yesterday for the 1st time I had an issue with my 96SE starting then cutting out if I did not keep my foot on the accelerator. I kept it lightly on the accelerator for a minute or so before it eventually kept running. It has a new gas filter. The car is driven infrequently and was last used about 10 days ago. Any ideas?

MIL was on a few weeks back with a knock sensor 03 04 code which I cleared myself without any repairs.

Could be a number of things if the car isn't driven regularly. Other than the fuel filter, which you replaced, you can check/clean the IACV, maybe the MAF too. It sounds like a fuel problem since you have to keep your foot on the accelerator pedal.
