Sorry for the bump. I'm likely going to do this in the spring, either via learning how to weld myself, or hiring someone to do just the welding.

Since the existing welds have to be drilled out, I assume then that what used to be spot welds, welding two layers of metal together, now have to be a hole filling welding technique like this?

Or am I incorrect there?

And there's 32+ of them total?

No need to weld. The radiator support is supported from both sides with about 6 bolts. What I did is I put 2- 3 additional bolts through the holes where I could access on the other side and put a nut. Lasted about 4 years with NO ISSUES and I traded the car this past winter with perfect rad support. Probably the best part in the car since here in Canada everything rusts. Just make sure you use the ORIGINAL part from Nissan.

 

But what if I want to weld? hah

LOL. That is the funnies answer I have ever heard. If you have a welding machine and you want to weld, weld man. I am only telling you that you don't have to.

 

I'm going to have to do some body work welding so unfortunately welding is something I think I'll be learning or farming out anyway, so figured I or someone else could do a few welds on the rad support at the same time.
