2k1 AE Cluster installed!

A while back I purchased a 2001 Anniversary Edition cluster from OC_nooby. I finally got around to installing the cluster the other day, using modenaf1's writeup, in my 96. At first the speedo and odo wouldn't work, so I bought a new VSS since I had intermittent operation on the old cluster anyway. After the new VSS, same deal. After searching, I came across an old thread where ajm8127 explained how to get the speedo/odo to work. I then pm'd him and he confirmed. 99% of the cluster works on the 4th gen. the only lights that dont work are highbeam indicator and odo backlight (works when lights are off, and turns off when lights are on). Enough talk, here are the pics:

Daytime

Nighttime

next mod will be #74 LED bulbs

Special thanks to:
OC_nooby for selling me the cluster
modenaf1 for his pinout conversion which saved me a whole lot of time
ajm8127 for helping me out with the speedo issue.

P.S. dont flame me on the KMH, this is my first Nissan after 3 Hondas, and in the Honda world, swapping jdm/cdm clusters with KMH is a big thing.

thanks for the comments. definitely the bulbs, and now i'm thinking about the chrome gauge rings too, lol. Also i've already taken the cluster to near 200 kmh, and I had to let off cause I didnt want a ticket...

That is a cool mod. I'm sure it's nothing to get the high-beam light, and odometer light to work as well. Those were two of the many issues I had when I was installing my I35 gauges into my 5.5. It was definitely worth the trouble for the swap though. I liked the stock 5.5 SE gauges, but they absolutely SUCKED at night.

well the numbers in the smaller circle are in miles per hour and top out at 160. The US spec AE cluster tops off at the same MPH and KMH, its just that mine has the KMH as the prominent unit. its definitely an aesthetic mod as well as proving to myself that I could accomplish the wiring.

My only question is.. If you installed it on a 96 that means you went from an Analog Odometer to a Digital Odometer. If this is the case did you get the miles to match up some how? Or do you just use the mileage that's already on the digital one because it can't be changed?

The cluster looks good. I wouldn't mind doing this if I could get the mileage to match up.

I wrote down my old mileage and the new mileage.
When I get a chance, I'm gonna speak to my friend at Infiniti if he can reprogram the mileage. Worst case scenario, I have an idea how I can take the odo to 000000, and then go further to my actual mileage.

Btw, my car has 96,xxx miles, and the cluster has 202,xxx kilometers which is about 120,xxx miles, so it'll be a bit more difficult to match mileage
