Final maxima problem and im clear

my airbag lightis on, i think its my fault and ive tried to do the reset and searched the forums. basically when i pulled my interior out to replace my carped i think i may have hit that box thats on the ground where the armrest would be. i get the light code 1 2. the reset thing didnt work and i do have a video of whats going on that i will upload after this post. this is the last thing i need to get done to my maxima before its ready for the world (well mainly inspection and emissions) and suggestions? ill still end up going to nissan to get it checked to be safe i just want a either temp. light shut off or a idea of whats goin on and how to fix it.
thanks.

The blinking light code (one long, two short) means that the box under the console can't communicate with the driver's side air bag. The FSM says that it could be the air bag, the wiring or the box under the console. (well no sheet - what else is there? the spare tire?) Based on what you said in your post, I would inspect the box under the console closely. In the connector on the box, there is a solid white wire and a solid blue wire that go to the steering column. Check and see if that connector is part way out. Then start inspecting the wires that maybe you nick or cut one. I don't know what direction the wire harness runs, but inspect it carefully starting at the box until it is past any area that you were working in.

Disconnect both battery cables before doing anything with SRS. Wait a couple of minutes and then do your inspections on that box, and check the wiring like stated on post 3. There is a connector above you glove box as well that connects to the passenger airbag, see if that is connected. Sorry if this doesn't help you out man

Here is a picture looking up into the dash with the glove box removed. Maybe you can see it without removing the glovebox, just having it opened. The code you are getting is for the driver's side, so I doubt that you will find anything wrong there. But it never ever hurts to check.

The black section of the wire is coming from the box under the console. The yellow section is going to the air bag gas cylinder.

ok so i tried the unplug it and plug it in. removing the battery firdt. i plugged everything in and turned the car on and it just kept flashing. i turned the car off and back on and i was hen back to square 1. tried the door trick and nope.
would both my seats have to be in my car for that light to go off?
when i took my seats out the battery was plugged in would that cause a srs light to come on? im lost but i just gotta get past emissions and im good (funny story about the inspection and if im correct emissions doesnt check srs light??idk) and other suggestions?

So far i have found this around, hope some of it helps:

"How to reset SRS(air bag) light

Open the driver's door. Note the rubber covered button located low on the B pillar, a button which is pressed by the door when the door is closed. This is the Driver's Door Switch (DDS).

Turn the ignition from OFF to ON. Press the DDS at least 5 times within 7 seconds after turning the ignition switch ON. Turn the ignition OFF. Close the driver's door. Start the engine.

If the airbag warning lamp is still on (or still flashing), there is a fault in the Supplemental Restraint System which must be diagnosed and repaired. This is a job for your local friendly Nissan dealer."

Everything sends me to the cullens reset method, but one post i noticed in a different thread stated to clean the DDS if it seems as if it is not working.

All your wires and harness were okay??
I'll keep doing some research and thanks Dennis for posting those pictures.
Good luck man. and sorry if most of this is useless
Edit: put the seat back as well. who knows it may help

The seats not being in only matters if the car is equipped with side air bags. Taking the seats out won't cause the SRS light to come on unless you mess something up in the process. It's beginning to look like the control box under the console has gone bad.

As to passing the inspection, I don't know. The different states have different requirements. I would suggest that you stop by an inspection station and ask them.

My neighbors friend works for nissan and does all the mechanic work (28+ years) I'm gonna ask him to take a look at it. Ill get it fixed I don't like being in a vehicle I don't feel safe in and I'm not the only one who's gonna be driving the vehicle so ill be contacting someone soon. Before I do tho, that box on the floor, what is it and would I be able to swap it for a different one?

You can ask maxima Joe to send you one. He sent me my srs system and so far so good since I did a self install. And yeah the seat matters in the later models that have an airbag in the seat. Iirc

It was easy every where but the passenger air bag (didn't have gear wrench so made this tremendously difficult) and i did not need the clock spring. You can find the instructions in the FSM as well.

Edit: You will need T50 Tamper socket and 10mm (gear) wrench, & screw driver
