I really hate to bump an old thread but I am running into the same problem with hood fitment. Did you ever figure anything out, or did you just live with the spacers?

One of my guys installed it and had this same prob too, he bent something on the hood to make it fit

Question to those with issues, and surprised no one mentioned this, was ur car hit in the front? I say this cause my friends car was hit and rad support was straightened

Its a taller radiator so most will scrape the top of the hood. Really not an issue for me. Could grind down the hood or get another rad cap from Mishimoto

I just checked the Mishimoto Rad in my brother's '97 and it sits lower than the OP's radiator. No issues whatsoever with fitment other than a broken fan bolt. He is also using a OE Nissan radiator cap, since I heard that the Mishimoto caps are not that great.

FYI, I run a Mishimoto in my 240SX, which influenced my brother to buy the Mishi for his Maxima.

The OEM cap will not fit on the Mishimoto radiator I dont think or I would have done that. Ill try tomorrow but I think the filler neck is a different size, not OEM nissan size. Mishimoto caps are a high bar cap, very good actually. I just didnt want to take off such a pretty cap even though it is scratched up from the hood lol.

Here's my dad's 95 Max vs my brother's 97 Max.

Does this radiator work with an auto trans. or do you need to install a separate cooler for auto trans application?

Seperate cooler. Dont cheap out on one as they are not expensive. I have Mishimoto's coolor but Hayden makes a good one as well. Simple job, its literally 2 hoses and maybe a quart of matic-d if you are slow and too much leaks out

B&M is better, has a temperature bypass valve so the ATF doesn't run through the cooler if it doesn't reach operating temperature.

You have to add some tranny fluid, regardless of how fast you are. Extra cooler+lines= extra fluid needed.
