Proper size tires for 16 x 7.5

I have a set of Borbet wheels and tires with 205/60-16 tires that have always seem a bit Beffy...just ALOT of rubber.

What tire size should I be buying ?

The wheels are 16" x 7.5"

225's will fit almost perfectly with a flat sidewall on a 7.5" wheel, especially a 35-45 series. However, anything from a 205-245 will fit fine depending on sidewall height.

I've got 235/40/18's on my Muranos which are 18x7.5 and they fit pretty much perfectly.

a 225/50/16 looks amazing on our cars with any kind of drop. a 235/45/16 would be what i ran if i could find them for the right price.

But the stock rim is not the same size as what the op has. Stock rim is 16 x 6.5.

I'm running 225/55R16 on my 16x8 rx7 wheels. The speedo is accurate with this size.

Note that the tires in my sig are 225/50R16 and they made the speedometer read about 5 mph faster than I was actually going/

that tire is too narrow for that wheel but the overall diameter is very close to stock so it appears meaty because it is a 16" wheel.

Considering that you're supercharged im assuming you want a bit wider tires. I'd recommend 235/50 which is super close to overall stock diameter. There are many different width/aspect ratios that can be picked from in this rim size that will have the same overall diameter. use this tool to pick out what you want...

sotck size is 215/55-16.

I typed in 235/50 into the two major tire places Ive been searching (tirerack and discount) and both places came up "No tires for that size"

16" performance tires in our size have been disappearing over the last decade. Used to be a dozen 245/45/16's you could find but no more in street rubber. Now the 225/45/16 are also nearly extinct. Everybody's adopted 17" wheels as the minimum unfortunately.

Im really not looking for a performance tire. I just need an all around good size tire to use on my 16 x 7.5 rim. The size im using now jsut seems beefy on the side walls

I have a set of Z32 wheels (16x7.5) with 225/50/16 and they are perfect. 245/45/16 are a bit shorter still, but they came on the rear TT wheels, 16x8.5. Looks damn hard to find a street tire in that size as mentioned.

225/50-16 fit great on 16x7.5 wheels like others have stated. Sidewall is still narrow yet you do don't feel every bump in the road.
