funny story from last night (with a question)

Imma shorten this up cuz I should be at work right now.
Basically me and the lexus owner (the guy I'm racing) go to our friends shop. He's doin work on his car blah blah blah. This buick (like 2000ish) supercharged (the like stock 3800 v6 I think it was a park ave or a regal (I think regal)) pulls up and we start talking (please note this a 100% stock car) he's talking specs about his and I'm talking specs about mine and he says "my car does 280hp stock" now if there was a time to yell bulls*it and point at it that would have been the time. So I'm scratching my head at it agreeing with it as I let him talk more. Then I thought about it and I was like let's run it at the track b4 it closes for the season. Everyone and there momma was like "oh sh*t he's gonna destroy you (note 100% stock). So now for the question
(Please don't bash and post random things I'm just looking for direct information and specs) (please again don't post random things that have nothing to do with my question)

a stock (100%) buick supercharger at 280hp? Is this true I looked it up and it produces 240hp

(Please don't say race and find out we are I'm once again looking for specs)

(I'm not stock) but stock vs stock 4th gen maxima vs buick sc what's the odds look like ( please dont...nevermind)

And anything else you find HELPFUL feel free to post. Thanks in advance I'm going back to work lol

I never said anything about a street race or did the part about meeting at the track get skipped?
I figured I would get these types of comments from asking a simple question. Why waste your time downing me for asking about things on a forum I don't know about? If a mod feels as tho I shouldn't be asking this type of question then just lock the thread and ill ask somewhere else.

Well gotta take in the wieght of the buick. If it is truly stock it would weigh just over 3500lbs which would be like 500-600 lbs over a maxima. I ran one when I was pre-00vi and just had an intake and ypipe and was ahead by .23 seconds

also according to http://www.netcarshow.com/buick/2001-regal/ 1/4 mile times for stock are just under 15 which could easily be in the range of a lightly modded max

See I'm a new maxima owner coming from owning a monte carlo and driving a damn honda. I see a lot in these cars and came to this fourm and seen the type of performace these car do and seeing my neighbor have one and so I got one. I'm not a mechanical type of person imma electronics person so when I ask questions about specs from a maxima which I'm sure 80% of you have owned for years so you guys know more than me I shouldn't be getting everyones bs and **** talk about simple questions its simple just answer the question or don't bother with the thread. How asking specs on my car vs another is a stupid question is beyond me.

I wonder if anyone actually read the full story?
I don't care about anything else but the numbers and specs. Don't give me the whole "buick is gonna kick your a*s when I'm asking stock for stock spec questions because end of the day its all fun to me. I swear some of you are worse than 12 year olds on xbl/psn

His 240hp to the crank vs. your 190hp to the crank but he's a couple hundred pounds heavier. Factor in weight and percentage lost through the tranny and figure it out.

Sounds like it'll come down to the driver.

You said and your buddy in the lexus who you were going to race were talking, and a buck pulled up. Made me think you were on the street at a light or something. Saw the thing about track racing further down.

Its not that nobody read what you said its that you asked some really stupid questions. "will my car beat blah blah blah" is so immature, really? You can't be serious with this thread at all.

What specs are you asking about anyway? You want to know how much hp your car got simple answer 190. You want to know how much hp the buick got you looked it up yourself didn't you. What do you want to know, what are specs? DO you even have any idea what the word specs mean, doesn't look like it? You sound like a 10 yr old trying to get attention that's why instantly everyone gave you this reaction.

Plus there are 100,000 threads and dynos on this forum clearly in the stickies that have damn near have a answer to every question you can think of. Plus have you ever been to the track? There is lots of factors that can change the results.

What mods do you have done? 5spd or auto? I'm guessing you have experience at the track? What about the guy with the Buick? Is his stock? I'm guessing his is auto.

first off, the dude said clearly he is not a stock maxima. so why is everyone assuming he has 190 hp? his question may not be awesome, or anything you care about or are interested in, but you know what?

im tired of everyone talking **** about ANY ****ING THREAD THAT IS MADE. JESUS CHRIST PEOPLE. this is a message board, its not ONLY there for people to create an account and solve a problem. youre supposed to be able to make THREADS.

second, what would i be butthurt about dude? i do PLENTY of **** talking on this board. PLENTY. but theres a point where youre just talking **** for NO reason. at least have a purpose.

Oh so we're supposed to predict how much hp he got from "i got some work done" Lets just ask Miss Cleo who will win the race

First of all, the problem is with all these dumb threads is, they clutter the forums and "poof" go all the info filled threads, that's why a lot of links in the stickies point to the wrong thread (a different useless one) or don't work.

Second of all, you clearly just proved your butthurt with that response. Why you think talking **** and swearing like an immature little girl makes you not butthurt is strange to me....oh wait no its not all you butthurt immature kids do it

Looked up engine information or both cars I wanted to know stock vs stock as stated in this thread I was just trying to compare information with other maxima owners. There's no guessing game because I'm comparing a stock car to another seriously had I thought that coming to this site and seeing how nice these car really are and deciding to get one and join a community with other people who feel the same way would lead to this type of bull**** and ignorance I would have thought twice. Hope everyone had/has fun with the smart *** post they made. Mods can lock the thread I'm beyond done here...

nobody is forcing you to be here :hides:

honestly, you ask an a question that the answer was EASILY findable.

Back about 6 years ago when the OG's were more active and stuff the would flame the **** out of stupid stuff. I personally went through a ton of it between (name, name and name) for asking questions and stuff about either easily findable or plain ratarded stuff BUT dude its the internet, everything is not taken with 110% seriousness. Maybe 5% seriousness (once you learn this your life will be smoother). Just mellow out, your days will be easier.
