I have a 95 max AUTO, and i read in the forum about someone disconnecting the shift resistor under the hood, and that the max would upshift as hard as it could every upshift. I did id and it totally screwed up my shifting and computer. My max is shot.I thijnk i gatta bring the max to Nissan and have them reset the computer or soemthing im flipping out what do i do?

 

Stop believing everything you read on the Internet. Did you think Nissan put that resistor in just to spoil everyone's fun? Did you try reconnecting the resistor? When you were younger did you hit your toys with a hammer to see if they would break. If you answered yes to the 1st and 3rd question, you are a typical Maxima owner.

 

I have stated over and over and over again that that dropping resistor crap was HORRIBLE, but then again, why pay money for a real mod when you can instead damage your car by just clipping wires...

Try reconnecting it and resetting your ECU by following the directions on www.maximadriver.com

I went to 4 banks and none of them had and common cents, do you know where I can find some?

 

I read about it on the internet once, I'll see if I can dig up the link. All I know is that I've heard it kicks a$$.

If you can't figure it out, you should not be attempting mods with adult supervision. Take the max to the dealer, let them know what you did. And see how much to fix. Next time, run the car off a cliff- I heard if you survive the car gods will bless you with a 8 sec max.
