Auto transmission issue

My auto transmission has a problem at part throttle off at low speeds (unto 20-25mph). If I give it light throttle and then try to accelerate (i.e. half throttle), the transmission sort hangs up, its almost like like its stuck between gears/torque converter slipping. If I give it 3/4 gas or so it will downshift to first but it downshifts harshly, almost bangs. If go off the time hard or WOT it works perfectly fine, at WOT my shift are good as well. It been like this since I have had my car (~122K miles), it now has 150K The previous owner changed the oil every 30K miles with synthetic fluid.

I am not quite sure what is happening. Should I have the transmission flushed or just change the fluid a couple times? Or it is this some computer control issue?

Check the drop resistor. Sometimes the wires become to sensitive if you move them around.

My car was also doing this so I replaced tranny and now my car will not start. 98 maxima. I got two codes on it and replaced the sensors for those..check engine light went off and still it will not start... it will turn over but will not crank... so frustrated. I drove it into garage so it was running good before we changed tranny. Any ideas?? Its my only vehicle so I really need to get this thing fixed!!! I love my Max

more than likely when you change your tranny you didnt sand down the ground points, therefore you have no ground signal, you MUST and down mating points and reinstall your tranny, wat codes did you have?cam and crank sensors?

It got a lot better when I adjusted my TPS and IACV values via FSM procedure, I did them as close as I could.
