cut my sprints in the rear......

and the whole "hot rod" stance is a thing of the past. the max looks a little more even now and im very pleased with it. i cut 3/4 a coil off, i didnt go a full coil cuz i was worried about the rear sagging. ill post pics sometime this week.

also concerning the ride..its exactly the same. it didnt get any harsher, after 350 miles with the rears being cut.

it was a do-it-yourself operation. i to had thoughts of switching to GC, but didnt want to bother. we used a circular saw with a metal cutter blade. the whole thing took like 45 minutes, it was pretty easy. only thing that sort of a drawback is that i have to guide my springs in when im lowering the rear. its no big deal though, piece of cake

Anyone else needs help doing this...........

Great job guy join the cut spring club I did it to my front intrax and I did it already to another Maxima with sprints on it as well. So now the car is nicely dropped. Yippy slammed Maximas rule. Post some pics. Anyone else needs guidance on how to cut these rear sprints and make them sit nice and even.

All the stereo equipment I'm getting should take care of my sprints. The trunk is going to be pretty heavy.

If you know what you are doing you ll be alright we did not slam the car coilover style, we just closed the gap to a 2 finger fenderwell gap in the rear only. The sprints the coils touch each other on the rear cut only two complete coils and your good. If you cut one is not going to do much, two worked fine. As far as ride quality I rode in the car down a bumpy street it rides just fine. He does have Konis to back up a 2inch drop.

Buss in the rear Koni shock on what clip did you place your rear shock on the bottom one or the top?, the little clip thats on the shock and then comes the cup on top, that clip? I put his on the top and didnt work, he then place it on the bottom and it dropped an even 3 fingers. I have thick fingers for a short guy, well I guess your fingers are thicker than mine a 2inch=2 fingers for me. We cut 2 complete coils with the clip on the bottom. Looks Niceeeeee and even no saggy rear here and rides niceee too. But ask Cumalot instead since he rides in it everyday. I got a set of coilovers today and will probably put them on this summer and test them out for everyone the Weapon Rs on Konis I dont know if anyone has this setup yet.

SP6040 hit me up on the email Ill show you how to cut etc...all you need is a dremel with about 6 black cutting wheels that you can buy from home depot. Thats the way we cut these and I also did it to a Mustang GT, the Eibachs just didnt do it for the guy either. Latin250@hotmail.com
