Best Lowering Combo?

I am going to lower my car after I get some rims.
and I have to get the price range so I know how much money to collect.
I was wondering what the best Springs, Shocks, and Struts COMBO was?
do I need anything eles?
Because I am trying to install everything in at once so I don't have to install them 3 times at a shop.
^^ help please. Thanks

P.S: Put the prices up and where to get them if possible.

it really all depends on how low you want to go, and if "ride" is really important to you. there is really no "BEST" combo, everybody has there own perference. mine being sprints/konis(total of $610)..i think the 1st gen cattman coilovers are like $800 now...pretty good price i think for coilovers..

Sprint and Koni

My opinion Sprints and Konis, if you have $1600 knock yourself out they must be some bad coilovers, at least konis are heavy duty and you can adjust the rebound as well when you want a softer ride. Notice that alot of people that complain about ride quality dont have the shocks to back up the drop, if they do is more like Tokicos etc, but if you live in pothole country like I do and concerned about ride quality then go with a different setup I had Eibachs the ride was pretty good, but my opinion paying alot for H Rs and Eibachs are a waste of money since they leave such a big gap in the fenderwell. Well your choice now Jaime

.. Dont let the fenderwell gap police get ya...

INTRAX on SE struts ,,, harsh very sporty ride ,,, im getting AGX's soon.

H&R and Eibach with AGX or Tokico blues would be a softer ride , but i hear tokicos arent that great for lowered cars... ive never had them , so i cant complain though.

I LOVE MY INTRAX

eibachs can ride on stock for a while (stock SE), then get some KYB AGX for like 380 at eatricezone.com ... you should be happy. Intrax is a very good brand though, intrax, sprint, h&r, eibach are all very good reputable brands

ground controls and KYB-AGX. I paid about $850 shipped and installed.

I just raised my car back up for the winter and set it to a softer setting and it rides really nice (almost like stock).

When I had it lowered and tight the suspension really performed great.

so you can have the best of both worlds, I have nothing bad to say about my setup

yes , GC and Koni or KYB is also a good setup ,,, probably the best coil over for the money.

Ground control = company that makes a coil over setup .(i.e. the springs, and perchs that you use to adjust them)
Koni + KYB = strut/shock companies that you put on in addition to the Ground control spring assembly

Ground control you will probably like , being that they use EIBACH springs. i think the link there is www.groundcontrol.com
check them out , very informative site, diagrams and everything , its easier if you can see it.

An airbag setup would be nice because you can control it from inside the car. Some of the new setups have the playstation controller for the kit. But all in all, its up to you and your pocket.

www.ground-control.com ,

Ground contros will run you $430, you will need some camber plates with that, that should run you about $313 and you will need some really nice good shocks $450 for koni yellows (If I was you I would go with Koni Adjustable) For a total of $1, 153.00 you can subtract $80 for KYB Adj from Custom maxima. Or you can get some Sprints $120 and you ll need just an alignment so with sprints and konis thats a different story now your total with alignment should be $701.00 with alignment and shipping charges, assuming you will do the labor yourself, which you should or have someone help you is not hard all this is just time consuming and it will make you feel good.

I only have springs, struts to come. (So I guess 2 kinda) I'm not having any problems yet with my Sprints, but the ride is a little too bouncy and I'm hoping some nice KYB AGX struts will clear that up.

The reason why I added the camber plates is bcuz say summer rolls around and your bored and you decide to Jack the car up and slam your ride all the way down you can take it to the alignment shop to align your car, but like he said camber plates is your option, you can also get camber bolts but when I put some on my car they made funny noises. But that was my experience with camber bolts.

I have Koni adjustable shocks with intrax springs (cut coil on the front). This suspension stuff is expensive sit back and think about what you really want. Unlike my dumb az.z who didnt know no better and was in a rush to to drop my car I went with Eibachs and those freaking a..holes charged me $500 plus dollars for installation of the Eibach Springs. I was not happy with that Nasty Fenderwell gap so purchased Intrax since Ground Controls were not out yet or Sprints. So I also purchased Dropzones for a 2 inch drop and that didnt work either (still same drop like intrax). The Konis the shop wanted to charge me $175 a shock plus installation of the Koni Yellows. Well since these zztupid Macaronis wanted to rip me off constantly I made a promise from there on out after the Eibach installation that I will be my own mechanic and that has saved me Alot of money and so has this site thats the reason why I donated a couple of Dollars to this site. I hope I didnt confuse you alot. If you have any more questions just send one of us a Private message or an email, my is Latin250@hotmail.com , I am sure Vyrus will help you out as well he has Sprints on his car, Jaime

Yeah if you need any info on Sprints Sexima, feel free to PM or eMail me (Cyrus@Nismo.org). They're great springs and I definitely recommend them, especially for their price ($130). It just sucks that they're on backorder right now, but if you aren't planning to buy too soon (within the next couple of weeks) that shouldn't be a problem. Sprints will drop your car the lowest on springs (unless you cut them like Jay25 ).

By the way...

Sexima if you drive down here to the Tidewater area (Virginia Beach) I can get you springs and/or struts installed for $125 flat. I'm sure that way cheaper than D.C. prices, but you can always do it yourself too. The place is Millennium Autosports, and trust me they do high quality jobs.
Later,
Cyrus

Is sprint a real 2 inch drop on both ends. I was looking at those springs but heard the back looks alot higher than the front. Did anyone have a problem with that because i would def. go with the sprint 2" drop if it looked even back to front.

everyone i know says they are even. Maximas (stock suspension) are notorious for having a saggy back end. so maybe they are just used to it being dropped a little more in the back ?

that could be why. Now im still debating what to go with. Has anyone heard of B&G or is that not a good option. What would be the best handling, Intrax, B&G, or sprint, and lets not forget H&R? This is definatly not an easy call to make.

coil over is always best , especially if it snows where you live. you can lift it back up for the clearance .... Eibach and H&R both drop 1-1.5

B G doesnt drop your car enough before I buy my any other springs I d consider dropzones sprint or even coilovers. Sexima I am very happy with my ride and my cut spring drop. Vyrus are you happy with your ride with sprints. I rode in Cumalots car and we went on a bumpy road they ride just fine. I think people are spring Bias, bottom line a Maxima dropped below 1.75 looks very nice. As for for bumpy roads you can not beat New Orleans with the bumps and potholes, trust me on this one. Why you think in another post WOPE said dont you guys scrape and we replied no. Like I said before Sexima look at the different type of drops because if your picky and want your car to look nice, after days of staring at the fenderwell gap youll get mad and frustrated and now you spent the money.

Just dont let the fenderwell police get you too in the future. And as for coilovers you can always jack up the car in snowy weather and your back to nearly stock height.
