Doing wheel bearing, problems inside w/pics...

My car has a terrible screetch. I suspect a wheel bearing so I tore into it today.

What I found is that the hub came right off of the spindle when I pushed the axle out the back, and one of the inner races wasn't pressed onto the hub.

This race that should be here in this picture slides on and off and spins freely when I put it on.

Here is the race, just slipped on

The outer race looks to be in great condition with no chips or scratches. Although the inner races do have some lines running around them.

So I pulled the new inner race bearing out of the box and went to put it on the hub and it doesn't slide on and off, but I'm wondering if the hub itself will need to be replaced because perhaps it's worn down a tad.

Also, where do I get new seals? My seals were pretty bad and the bearings were full of dirt which would explain the noise. I can't find the kit at the auto parts store so a part number would be awesome, or whatever it's called so I can search it. Obviously "Wheel bearing seals" isn't the proper term.

Filthy bearings.

Gonna take the hub knuckle up to my friends work so he can press them off and press the new stuff back in.

Pulled the race off that was pressed on still and you can visibly see the difference in the hub. The hub is shot.

Almost like if you spin a rod bearing in your car you can see the difference on the journal from one rod bearing to the next..

Dang.

You HAVE to do the wheel bearing and the hub now. Its clear the hub is done-for. You have to get the new bearing pressed into the hub anyway by a press...

Yeah of course. I ordered the hub earlier and it will be here tomorrow.

Sucks about the extra cash but I will be so happy when this scraping is gone.

Wheel bearing job honestly isn't that bad. Getting the knuckle off is cake and once I got the knuckle off, like I said the hub came right off.

Once I take it to the show tomorrow it should be pressed in just a few minutes and I can have it assembled in 30 mins or so.

Yeah but with the 25 degree weather and my boy pressing it out and putting the new bearing in for $20 screw it, I'll let him do it. He will give it back to me assembled, I just have to bolt it onto the car.

Did my passenger side, wheel bearing took it off and the hub was shot. Swapped the axle too and the car feels amazing!
