Anyone Tried E3 Sparks plugs in their 4th Gen?

I just acquired a 99 Maxima and I'm curious if there is anyone out there that install E3 spark plugs in their Maxima? I wondering if there was any power improvement along with more MPG?

For the price you pay for those e3's it really isn't worth it over your $3-10 NGK plugs.

They are terrible plugs. NGKs for sure. the quality just isn't there in the build, and I don't trust a plug I can't gap. I had them in my 240 for about 3 months and switched back.

I run the E3 in my cars. Had them in my 94, now in my 97 and 2000. The cars are daily drivers and the E3 plugs haven't given me any problems since I started using them in 2004. Can't say how they would do in a performance environment.

Why not try to keep things simple and stick to what is proven. NKG

the "diamond fire technology" is pointless. electricity takes the path of least resistance so it will fire on one spot of the electrode until its completely worn away and has higher resistance then it will move to the next spot with least resistance and so on until the plug is dead

the're pointless

I agree indexing them may cause a better burn but I feel that coppers are the best plugs NGK of course because copper is the most conductive and will result in a hotter more powerful spark irridiums just last longer about 100k to coppers 30-60k

Uhh, no. I see your line of thinking here with copper conductivity but as a plug goes the NGK Iridiums are the best way to go in the VQ30DE engine.

Yes copper is a very conductive material, however the conditions the plugs are in, ie. inside a combustion chamber at many hundreds of degrees F at detonation over 1000's of cycles a min(RPMs), durability becomes your best friend. Stick with the Iridiums for reliable performance and never look back ...

the iridiums are what the manufacturer calls for but thats for reliability only the maxima has some of that to spare.

ill take smooth acceleration and ride over reliability any day especially with my max.

and the plugs are easy.

iridiums are only good if you dont want to keep changing them. me, i dont really care. plus coppers are cheeeeaap

Gas mileage is good. My wife gets 22-23 mpg around town when she drives the car, when I drive it I get about 17-18.

Copper plugs give the best spark of materials used in spark plugs but wears out faster because it is a softer metal. Platinum plugs are next and then Iridum. Iridium plugs will last longer than platinum plugs because it is a harder metal, and the spark is reduced because of this. However it is so minute that it really isn't of any concern.

E3=Snake oil. I was a believer until I put them in. No positive change, no negative change. Great marketing, though.

What else would you expect to get from a replacement part?

I watched these make power over a standard Ac delco /Champion plug in a 350 Chevy on Horsepower TV......I also found that same segment doing a duplicolor rattle can spray paint test after applying a light color/reflective color to the bottom side of the intake manifold of this same Chevy 350 test mule and pick up power....The paint they advertised about has a 2000 degree F temp limit and I sprayed it on some headers and it never peeled off and was in excellent shape for over 6 months B4 I ceramic coated the headers.....So I thought I would ask you fellas a question re:E3 plugs and THOSE THAT HAVE TRIED THEM!.....I run NGK's in all my Nissans! I've got Lazer Iridiums in my 03, Platniums in the 90, Coppers in my D21, and unknown in the 99!!!! Maybe I'll try some in my 99 VQ30DE.....It'll be cheaper than my D21 Hardbody p'up cause it has 8 plugs (4 cyl)......thx guys
