Replacing front electronic engine mount with a standard one?

Have any of you guys replaced the front electronic engine mount with one from a base model or manual transmission? I'm mainly asking because of the large difference in price between the two. I don't care if I get a slight amount of additional vibration with the standard mount. I guess someone with a automatic GXE would be a good person to ask since they came with standard mounts...

Just trying to save a buck, so any help is appreciated.

You may have answered your own question. If GXEs had the fixed mount, then it must not be that bad. Nissan wouldnt let an annoying vibration go out to production on some 80,000+ cars.....and over a 5 year lifespan to boot.

Works fine, did it in my 03. And at one point, was going to do the same in my 95. Kevlo911 has a thread on it somewhere.

My plus is just hanging and no SES/CEL for it either.

I was thinking about this and would like to ask if anyone has experience with filling their mounts? Switch to a non-moving mount up front and fill all four on the engine/trans. The car has a supercharger and I want stiffer mounts.

Been there, done that, no issues. Mine is GLE and got the front GXE mount. No CEL either.

Thanks for the input guys. I already knew the mounts were interchangeable...but I wanted some feedback from owners who had gone this route. So, I wasn't worried about a CEL or anything. Mainly I was just concerned about additional vibration over the adjustable mount.

Anything is likely better than my original mounts with 170k on the clock.

Once I get the mounts done I have some freshening up to do for the front suspension/steering. Raybestos control arms, Moog endlinks and inner/outer tie rods, and poly sway bar bushings to go with my recently installed Tokico blues. The car will hopefully be much tighter.

You definitely do not want to use the 02-03 mounts. The price is out there since the mounts are liquid filled. When I went to the dealer to get mine and a guy behind me to get his for an 03 max, it was almost $300 just for the rear mount..

Yikes! Thanks for the heads up. I think I'm going to try the ones made by Anchor on Rockauto. I'll probably replace all four mounts for the sake of thoroughness.

Get some used 95-03 M/T, front/rear motor mounts and mod them with ES MM....and call it the day!

Did the 95 gle come with the electronic front mount? I need to order one from amazon, but there are 3 transmission types. REFO4V and REFO4A, 5speed. I assume I have the A, and the V is for VLSD transmission. When I click on gle it says wont fit my car for the standard mount??

Never mind I do have a gle with the electronic mount lol just had to pop the hood and look at it.

On my last max I was also trying to save a few bucks so I ordered the full set from ebay for about $100. All was good for about 2 days and then all 4 of the mounts had failed. They were even worse than the stock 300k mounts that I had just finished replacing.

Nothing sucks more than having to buy another set of quality parts and paying for labor again. Thinking back I shouldv'e just DIY poyfilled the mounts or bought some ES Bushings.

After my I30 had the 1st ECU failure (with the previous owner), I unplugged the electric front mount. No CEL codes or other issues. Also, I couldn't detect any vibration issues after unplugging it. I've read where a short in the electric mount can knock out the ECU.
