new life pt.2
Hey wats gd members. Finally did my first motor swap, it wasn't hard just time consuming. Im planning on changing the clutch because I dnt kno the condition from the previous motor. I'm going wit a dual friction from centerforce. Do I need a new flywheel? Can I go oem or I cnt afford a lightened and what are the benefits of this set-up. Is the dual friction good?

The transmission shop that just rebuilt mine said they were going to machine the face of the flywheel after installing the new clutch, but the center hole in the Maxima flyweel was a lot larger than they had centers for so they took it to another shop that does. The guy at that shop said these flywheels aren't machineable, have to get a new one. Don't know if he was giving me BS, but they have a good reputation. The new flywheel cost about $150

Thank guys but why do we get lighter flywheels if they break down easily? Also which is the best way to put a new motor in. Attach the tranny and motor together or one at a time.. Thanx again members

Lightweigh flywheels dont breakdown and wear like this guys saying. Get a fidanza they are great and cheap for 5spd 4th gens. Best thing is instead of getting the flywheel machined when doing a clutch job, all you do is buy a new friction disk ($50).
