Rota G Force Fitment
Rota G Force Fitment
Dont think anyone saw my post on my other rim thread so Im making another thread as I need this question answered asap. Im looking at a set of rota g force rims. Offset is 30mm, rims are 18x9, tires are 225/40/18 and hub size is 73 mm. Will this rim/tire setup be fine without rolling the fenders and how will fitment be? Also, has anyone ran these rims on a 4th gen? If so, a pic would be nice so I could get a feel for what theyll look like.
Your linked right in on the same thing I've been trying to figure out...a wheel that looks like an ADVAN RS without the price. I have a set of Konig Feather wheels on order with some tires that are backordered and it has me thinking twice about the wheels.
The Feather comes in at 17 lbs. for the 17x7.5 but it only comes in a very shallow ET45. I was hoping for something with a more aggressive spoke, cleaner hub and more depth and the g-force weighs about the same.
Discount tire keeps telling me that we shouldn't go lower than a 40 because they are concerned about hitting on the fender or spring for the strut, I told them that guys on here are running more aggressive sizes than that without an issue.
I also have to be concerned with clearing Z32 calipers with the 12.6" rotors.
Looking at Rota's website it looks like the 17x7.5 ET45 or a 17x8 ET35 are the best choices in that diameter, but I want to fit it up to the car before mounting tires on it.
The only other concern is that some here have little to no faith in Rota's quality, then again others have run them for years with no problems.

I recommend you also read up on http://forums.maxima.org/tires-wheels/580521-fitment-dummies-k-will-fit.html
It should help out on your question of fitment, but it's gonna be really tight cramming a +30 and 9" wide rim up front.

Lol, I have 245's on my 350z rims now and they rub in the rear. This set of rims has 225's so I dont think theyll rub.
Took a look at the thread. Apparently if I run a 9 in wide rim, +38mm offset will make it flush with the fender in the front. How much will a -8mm offset affect how flush the rim/tire will be with the fender since the rims Im thinking about running are +30mm offset.

I don't know much about running the staggered look my friend, so I can't help you their.
I did however cancel my order on the feathers and place an order for a set of bronze Rota G-force 17x8 35offset for the front and rear, these should hopefully fill out the front nicely without rubbing anything and I'll be running spacers in the rear to push them out more flush and still be able to rotate my tires for better wear.
They should be in next week or so and I'll do a trial fitment, but won't have a full idea until I test fit with the caliper in place on the bracket to make sure it clears the spokes and barrel properly.
I'm also planning on running the 12" rotor upgrade from fastbrakes.com for the rear to better balance the setup.

Yeah, I've heard it all before, and yes it scares me a little. I have heard that they have improved quite a bit from the early problems but that could be just talk, guess I'll find out.
I do however like that among the broken Rota's were also some high end Volk, OEM Infiniti, low end ICW, etc. in the posted pics., so it's not a problem exclusive to just Rota.
Heck, I remember watching the Laguna Seca Touring Car race last season and a Mazdaspeed 3 broke two wheels at the same corner and same location on the car, and those are supposed to stand up to the torture of racing!
Personally I hope your wrong just because it's MY money.
