Splash shield mystery

My wife recently informed me that something was dragging under the Max. When I got underneath, I found a good sized chunk of splash shield hanging down. This is what it looks like after I took it off:

It was hanging from the two holes in the main member towards the left of this picture (looking at the driver's side from the front): http://i397.photobucket.com/albums/p...3DP1050709.jpg. I think it was still bolted into both holes, but I'm not sure. And I think it was hanging towards the rear, but I'm not sure of that either.

The front splash shield on that side is in good shape, and it looks just like this: http://www.carpartswholesale.com/v5/...Listing+Page:4. So I'm pretty sure the torn piece didn't come off the front shield. But carpartswholesale doesn't show anything like the piece that fell off. Anyone know what it is?

It's part of the front shield but only Automatic cars have that piece.

Interesting. I looked carefully at the front shield before I put it back on and I couldn't see any evidence of a torn edge. And carpartswholesale doesn't show anything else on that side. Could it be called something else?

If you look on the inside of the Shield it should have a Nissan Part number molded on it.

Good call. I had to scrape off some gunk, but I found it--11338 40U10. It's part 11338 here: http://www.nissanpartszone.com/compo...g-112-477.html.
